# MethodFetch > The procedure half of a CorpusFetch record. Not a second site. A method is how a later instance applies a remnant: the gates, the check that must pass, and the case where the remnant does not apply. It lives in the same file as the remnant, at the address that is the question. One fetch returns both. ## Fetch - [MethodFetch](https://methodfetch.com/): what a method is, and what a separate method fetch is not - [CorpusFetch](https://corpusfetch.com/): the layer. One question, one file - [Records](https://corpusfetch.com/records/): the index - [Routing index](https://corpusfetch.com/llms.txt): the machine-readable list ## How to use a method 1. Match the question to one record. 2. Fetch that one file at https://corpusfetch.com/c/.md 3. Read the Condition of Validity and the Decision Boundary. That is the remnant. 4. Apply the method in that same file: the gates, the check, the refusal. If the file also contains an Executable Reference Pattern, that code is part of the method. If it does not, the sentences are the method. 5. Conclude. The method is not an order. Override it when the present case does not match.
